BRITT VS. CYN: DREAM HOMES
Brittany and Cynthia, tasked Adam Touni, Brittany’s fiancé, with the job of finding the ladies their ultimate dream homes. Adam is attorney turned real estate broker, who works for one of California’s largest independently owned real estate companies, Pacific Union. Like most people, Cynthia and Brittany love real estate. Whether they’re house hunting online, enjoying photos of beautiful homes, using Houzz or Pinterest to search for interior design ideas, or even better searching for the next place they would love to take a vacation with their family — They love all things real estate.
To that point, they are constantly tasking me with finding them amazing new properties to look at. Recently, they wanted me to source for them ultimate, pie-in-the-sky dream home … And like most things, they have a difference of opinion on the matter. So, like any good real estate specialist (and fiancé), I asked them what they are looking for:
Brittany:
“I’ve traveled the world in search of places to explore, eat, experience and relax, but nothing makes me happier and more at peace than looking at the ocean. This is likely because I grew up in Florida, where I spent every summer enjoying our family trips to St. Augustine. The beaches in St. Augustine are wide, flat and the white sands glow juxtaposed the coral blue water. If I had to pick my ideal vacation house it would be over-looking the ocean.”
Cynthia
“I agree with Britt, but on other hand, I love being outdoors and finding beauty in a rustic setting, which is quite opposite than my days as kid on the beach in Florida, as Brittany mentioned. For years, I’ve told Brittany that I could see my family owning a little ranch or rustic cabin. My vacation home setting would be bucolic, with low hanging sun, soft light and acres of beautiful, scenic space…perfect for my photography and space for my kids to play!”
I scoured active listings throughout California, and found two very different homes that I think both Brittany and Cynthia would love put on their vision boards. You gotta dream big, right?
Britt’s Dream Home Pick
My colleague, Sally Forster Jones, with the John Aaroe Group (Pacific Union’s Southern California partner) is currently listing this stunning, $80,000,000 beach compound overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Malibu. Driving down the coast to one of Britt’s favorite restaurants you would see the 27 mile stretch of Malibu’s pristine beach front property, making it a true gem of the State.
Cyn’s Dream Home Pick

For years, Cynthia has dreamed of a vacation home with a rustic setting and I recently recommended she explore Northern California’s wine country. Towns like St. Helena, Glen Ellen and Calistoga blend rustic beauty, wine making and quaint country living that make it one of the most desirable areas in the State. Many San Francisco residents vacation here to avoid “Karl the fog” which plagues San Francisco typically every June through August.
That said, I showed Cynthia the Santa Angelina Ranch located in Calistoga, California as her dream home. My colleague, William Densberger is listing this gorgeous ranch property for $39,000,000.
The property itself is over 7,800 acres, and includes a charming farmhouse with 5 bedrooms and 5 baths. Cyn however is drawn to the amazing land! This acreage is a place where she could fulfill her dream of building her own custom dream home on this spectacular property.
The wide-open spaces, rivers and views of the surrounding mountains are enchanting. Moreover, the town of Calistoga offers that charming small-town allure, and is likely best known for its natural hot springs and spas.
If you can’t find your way onto this multi-million dollar estate, you should still check out Calistoga and I would recommend the Hotel Solage, which is a gorgeous resort to relax, dine and hang out with friends and family.
I don’t know about you, but if I had $40,000,000+ just lying around, these homes would definitely be on my real estate short list!
