Can we all just agree that Halloween is one of the most fun holidays to decorate for?! With October 31st right around the corner, I have been having a blast getting the house all decked out and looking festive. Instead of buying ‘traditional’ decorations from the store (which are usually overpriced and boring), I decided to get crafty with some DIYs that I found on Pinterest — And of course, I enlisted Britt’s help.

But let’s be honest, not all DIYs are exactly created equal — We have all seen those gorgeous projects on Pinterest and once you look at the instructions you realize that you literally need to be Martha Stewart to re-create them. That’s why I was so excited when I found this fun and creative skeleton + succulent coffin planter — It is one of those DIYs that is so simple to create, but looks like you put a ton of time and effort into it.

One of my favorite things about this is that it took so little time and only a few inexpensive supplies! Plus, I will be able to re-plant the succulents once the holiday is over! Here us what you will need:

• Medium or Large Skeleton (any Halloween store will have one)

• Googly eye balls (any Halloween store will have one)

• Dirt Small SucculentsTub or plastic coffin (I had this tin tub laying around, but you can find something similar at Walmart, Target or Home Depot)

Start by pouring a thick layer of dirt in the coffin – keep in mind that you want the skeleton propped up enough to see, so fill the coffin up accordingly. Lay your skeleton down on the bed of dirt. We kept our skeleton in one piece, but you may choose to break it apart and have bones sticking out of the dirt. Next, arrange the dirt around the skeleton to make it look as if it partially buried. Finally, add in some googly eye balls, or other spooky knick-knacks. Lastly, add your succulents and you’re done!

Let me know if you guys make one! I would love to see how yours turned out!
